M. Michele George, M.Sc, Author, Certified Natural Hair Coach
M Michele George is a Biomedical Research Coordinator with advanced degrees in the biological sciences that have laid a solid scientific foundation which allows her to look at the science of hair from a unique physiological and developmental vantage point. Merging a legacy of science and hair from a Grandfather who was a trained Chemist and a Grandmother who was a Beauty Salon Owner. As a former CEU board educator for the Cosmetolgoy Industry in Ohio, Michele channels this legacy in her work, bringing to life The Knotty Truth.
Michele's paternal Grandmother introduced her to the world of beauty. From that beauty, she has always been drawn to the beauty and design of naturally curly hair. Because Grandma Gin’ ran a beauty shop out of her basement, she relayed her passion for hair to “Cheli” (as Grandma Gin’ called her) who now manifests this gift by empowering women to embrace the unique beauty in their God-made naps. The study, design and art of natural hair are passions that called Cheli from the belly of her soul. She has made it her quest to empower knowledge through teaching others how to love, learn and care for their own hair. She believes there is ministry in our tresses and “I have been called to testify.” The Knotty Truth:Conscious Natural Hair Care books and workshops enlighten, educate, and inspire others to live on purpose by embracing their birth right, rejecting the negative stigma that has been assigned to our hybrid coils.

I made the dramatic switch from chemical to natural after a series of traumatic experiences. When I started reading The Knotty Truth I did
not want to put it down!!!!!! It is a refreshing and revolutionary book that inspired me to not only keep my natural locks, but it has also better prepared me to teach my lovely daughter about what is beautiful about her hair. -LenaArnold , Author, For this Child We Prayed: Living with the Secret Shame of Infertility.
A must-read for any woman considering becoming and/or in the midst of being chemical-free. With Knotty Truth, you are armed with information to free yourself; without it, you are like a ship without a sail. As a television personality, this book has added to my confidence to free my mind and escape the chemical!

I received your book! It was phenomonal! All the info I researched about natural hair, dangerous chemicals, and EO on other sites, you have in one book. I read " NO LYE " and " Nice Dreads ", which were great reads. This book has all that is needed to make a conscience and well informed decision to leave the "creamy crack" behind!

"The Knotty Truth has proved to be a natural girl's guide in a not-so natural world. Everything that we see today shows us that tightly coiled hair is difficult to manage and unsightly. The Knotty Truth demonstrates how to care for tightly coiled hair with ease. The "Quick Solutions to Common Problems" is filled with simple remedies to major concerns about coily hair. For those who are newly natural or thinking about going natural, this book serves as a great research guide and an informative tool to help navigate through the moments of uncertainty. M. Michele George has provided us with a valuable resource, filled with knowledge based on her own and other people's experience who have chosen to embark on the natural journey."

I have this book. It is wonderful. It fills a void. Gives so much information on how to manage coiled, curly, hair. After reading, I went to the health food store instead of the beauty supply store.
Thank you for writing this book.

I loved this book! I actually ordered it several months ago and read it in one day. I could NOT put the book down. It is packed with so much information related to how to do just about everything with you own natural hair. I wish I had this book when I first became natural, it would not have taken me so long to embrace my own natural hair and appreciate it. She has definitely gotten to the root of natural hair and this book will give you an appreciation for your hair and how to handle it. Great and fast read!!

Your book is a must read. Sister James introduced me to The Knotty Truth. Our church had a women's prayer shut-in a few months back and a few of us ladies were talking and expressing some of our concerns about our self-care & self image. To make a long story short, she told me about your book and allowed me to borrow her copy which I have yet to give back. I will b/c I don't want her to think I'm trying to keep it. I have been natural for at least the last 5 years. I always have someone else braid or twist my hair for me but now I am looking not to have to be dependent on someone to do it. Some people just aren't dependable when you need an appointment. I've never been one good at styling or doing my own hair. I love natural products & essential oils and I think your book will help me to become a successfull DIYer. I haven't read all the way through the book yet but I love the information thus far. Thanks for writing the book. Take care.
God Bless Susan
